Single cam Draw stop - Non adjustable - (Nock set method)

One of the most important aspects associated with long range accuracy is a consistant draw length & anchor location.  When your bow has "sponge" in the back wall, there is a tendancy for your draw length to fluctuate slightly.  When executing your shots with back tension, ideally you want as solid of a wall as possible with no slop or play.  "Back in the day", before the evolution of cam eccentrics, bows were shot from the "valley".  This is no longer the case.  Todays eccentrics are designed to be shot directly off the back wall.  Many of todays modern target bows have a solid draw stop designed into the eccentrics such as Bowtech, Hoyt, etc..  A lot of single cam bows have a great draw cycle & a reasonable back wall, but you can still pull thru it.  Our testing has showed a possible variance of over 5 FPS thru the chronograph!  Adding a simple draw stop that creates a possitive stop can have a very possitive effect.

Adding a draw stop will help overall consistancy effecting a few different areas listed below.
  • Cleaner breaking shots
  • More consistant shot execution timing
  • More consistant velocity
  • Better virtical grouping downrange
  • Better overall grouping

Some important things to remember about this draw stop method.
  • This is a MOSTLY non adjustable draw stop.  Once the draw stop is installed, it is not easily adjusted
  • The exact location of the installation of the material & nock set is very critical
  • You will either need a friend to assist, a draw board, or a hooter shooter for this process
  • Don't worry, if you get it wrong the first time, you can easily remove & redo the process.
This video covers the process which can be applied to any single cam bow.  For videos covering "The backtie method", see the Free Content section on the left hand side of the home page.

You can try this at home or you can send us your bow at www.ProBowTune.com & we'll do it for you!

You may use this method on 1 condition...
